I believe the fate of the world isn’t as easily tipped as some cynics might proclaim, nor is it as stable as others say. It tilts and totters back and forth, and with each act of kindness and cruelty a little part of the balance teeters. An old saying tells us a person has an equal amount of happiness and sadness, cheeriness and stress, love and hate, in their lifetime. I believe this is true in the world as well. No act of kindness is wasted. No act of malice goes undetected. It all comes back around in a cycle, keeping the world balanced.
Comparing us, the modern humans, to an early homo sapien would be like comparing a dragonfly to a real dragon; we are completely different in everything but our names. However, for some creatures, the world hasn’t changed at all. Animals or people in remote places don’t receive as many transformations to their world as ours. Drastically different from early humans, today we live in masses, thinking and communicating as part of a large group, connected through the internet. Our very minds and thought processes have evolved, changing the way we think. However, perhaps in a thousand years, the world will have changed into something completely alien. When something changes for the better or worse, the judgment is completely relative. It depends on whom or what is considering the world.
There is no doubt the world is changing. However, I
don’t think it is changing for only the better or the worse. In nature, when an
imbalance forms, other events happen to even it out. I believe that’s how the
world works. Change is never completely good, nor bad; there’s a little bit
yang in every yin, a little bit of yin in every yang. Little by little, every
cause meets its effect.
